Hi this is my first post on these forums and I hope I can ask this right.
so... here I go.

I Just recently bought an M50 and I have figured out alot of very cool
things on it but my problem comes in sequence mode.

I take a Midi file from guitar pro 5 put it on a SD card then load it on my
M50 to Sequence #000 or #001 or where ever else I feel like it.

When it's loaded i find that all of my instruments are wrong like drums are
a piano or strings are a organ. I tried going global->Bank map-> GM(2) but nothing changes
when I reload it.

I need to know how to change those sounds and keep them at what I
changed them to. I know there were other posts about this same issue
but they seriously did not help me in the slightest bit.

If it's possible I'd perfer to be able to make each instrument in my song
with sounds that aren't from the GM bank.

The past forums keep saying something about "Event Edit" but when I go
there I can't find what they're talking about.

Summary- I want the sounds on my midi file to not change at all when they're loaded on my M50 and I dont want to have to set it to GM(2). Whatever sounds I pick, they are the sounds that stay.

After you have made the changes to the programs that you wish to keep, hit the menu button and then use the p5-1 tab and uncheck all of the boxes in the top row(program change). This stops the programs from reverting back to their original voicings.

No, it's still not working. all of the sounds keep changing on measure 1 right after the first beat. but at least when I hit Locate I still have my sounds I picked.

Any other suggestions?

The sounds don't change for me... the volumes still change though. It would help if the volumes could all be ignored in one go as well. The only way I know to remix the volumes is to fix them all one at a time.

I actually have my volumes set to change at certain points and that works
right but it's just my sounds, right after the first beat is hit they all
change to something different

Wait I found it, It was in Global -> Page select -> Midi filter -> then turn off program change and it's working.

Sorry being new to korgs I didn't know Menu was another word for Global mode but It's working for now at least.
