Hey guys,
It's been years since I've been back on this forum! I have my setup back in Cairo with the M3 module & Pa1xPro. I recently bought an M-Audio KeyRig 49 keyboard controller to use with my MacBook's GarageBand and Logic. It works great. But it only has a USB cable as an output. And I also want to be able to take the controller back to Cairo to use with my M3 module as well when I'm traveling (I use the Pa1Xpro as the keyboard controller when in my studio setup).
My question is, does the M3 support midi controlling trough a USB input?? I don't have the module with me in Philadelphia to try it so I'm hoping someone knows something about that. Because if it doesn't support it, I'll have to return it and get another one that has midi outputs along with the USB.
Waiting to hear any feedback...
Carol

thought so... too bad will have to return it. My other thought is maybe a USB to Midi converter cable? Do you think that would work?

I've had excellent experiences with using the iConnectMIDI device to do exactly this. What I do with my M3M is connect the MIDI DIN to the iConnectMIDI, and leave the M3 USB connector directly connected into my Mac (thus, the M3M is connected twice into the computer). I route all midi in/out from controllers/ipad/sound modules/dark pit of Hell via the DIN connectors on the iConnectMIDI side of things, and use the USB connector to the computer solely for the benifits of the Korg USB driver (you can't use the M3 editor software otherwise). In this case, plug the controller in via USB on the iConnectMIDI, which turns it into a standard midi device.c_hammal wrote:thought so... too bad will have to return it. The iConnectMIDI effively bridges MIDI USB and DIN, and does not require a computer to do so. Also, you can connect and route the iConnectMIDI to/from two seperate computers simultaneously, which is great for spreading the softsynth load around. Excellent device.
