Two styles in the same song

Some time I'would change the current style during a song I'm playing, with another style without a hole in the performance: the same that happens in a medley.
Which is the better way to do this ?
Thanks for support.

Are you trying to play a Medley on purpose, or you simply want to finish a song and move on to the next song with a new style?

Hello,
thanks for answer, normally I prepare the settings of my PA2XPro accordingly to the song I want to play ( style, levels of parts, Manual Pads, and so on... ) and than I write every things with the name of the song, into the song list.
If I would change the style during performance ( e.g from verse 1 to chorus)
which way can I do that ? As you know some song changes style or even time signature from verse to chorus and viceversa.
Thanks in advance for support.

Right. It's not a good idea to change style in this case, me thinks! Most likely you will not have a smooth transition from section to section. It's better to reprogram the style and use the VAR buttons to do this. Either you can program the style yourself, or you can copy different elements from different styles and build a new one. You can have different time signature per variation. This way, you'll never miss the transition.

Can this be done in PA800 itself, or do you need a computer for this?

You could but you don't have to use an external sequencer to do this at all. In fact, if you already have the styles that you'd like to combine, it'll be faster to do a "Copy from style" on the keyboard itself.

Great!, I will surely try this.
Is it also possible to create tempo changes between Var's?

I'm not sure about that, as I've never explored that option. (Never needed it). If it's not possible, then that would be a great feature on the wishlist.

Yes it's possible to have different tempi in a style. I've done this in this style :

You have to insert tempo value at the second tic of each part of your style. If you change the tempo manually during the style playing, it will ignore recorded changes.

Cool! Thanks for the tip. This would be perfect for a Medley type of performance, or even for a song that requires this kind of programming.

Not to make another post,... i have similar question
Is it possible to have 2/4 fill in 4/4 style.
I want it to be played HalfBar (same as on old Rolands)
So i have 4/4 Fill which id like to edit (somehow) and make it 2/4.
Help would be appreciated

Each part of the style can have its own time signature.
The problem is to convert one 4/4 bar into two 2/4 bars.
I think the style record mode can't do it, neither the sequencer mode.
I made this exporting the style in cubase, and importing it after the job was done.

yeah, it's super easy to do this in an external Sequencer, but if you don't like to do that, you can always create a 2/4 Fill in an empty user slot, and then copy that to the relevant style.

This is the pro way , faster than exporting and editing SMF , just in few minutes and finally deleting the 2 extra quarter counts !
