great workstation worst editing software i have ever seen

Post by otter5555 »

history:

gigging guitarist for 48 years

got into keys in 1980

have been sequencing tracks ever since with a variety of hardware and software.

have owned / still own many synths/worstations and decided to try the micros.

tried several, got a new microstation 2 days ago.

love the ms, HATE the buggy software editor.

can't even change the name of a patch....

have used MANY editors over the years, this one tops them all for suckiness.

having started on the 80's synths, i have no problem editing most everything on the tiny display but, can't edit arps except in the editor.

why should naming a patch be so difficult?

can anyone tell me how to do this sucessfully?

btw, i also have the micro x and have no problems with the editor at all.

thanks

You have to hit return after you've renamed the patch otherwise it doesn't register.

Editor is simply not good enough

The microStation is a fantastic keyboard. the editor is not at all the same quality. it is that simple.

how did the original team make all those great sounds, on this editor??

i think a major problem is the FX set up...

ha! good for you... of course they say that - because you're talking to tech support, who must simply learn 'how' the product works, but don't really care how well it works. the poor guy probably has to learn the parameters of everything that korg makes, and he's getting $10 an hour. i can see his side of the story. it's just not great for the end user.

yeah!, it would be great to talk to one of the original programmers - i agree ! ! !
i bet that there is some sort of other software out there somewhere - not releasable, but something in C++ or whatever that allowed them to create so many detailed patches. otherwise - i hope they're getting more that $10/hour! ! ! one good patch on this thing can take all day!
