Dear KRONOS user,

KARO is pleased to announce a new sample library for the KRONOS: EXs65 Vintage Synth Explorer I.

KARO Vintage Synth Explorer I presents three fascinating, style-defining KORG synthesizers that made history: the PS-3200, Sigma and Lambda.

The library provides a huge number of exclusively sample-based instruments found nowhere else, including 216 MB of high-quality samples and 128 Programs especially designed for them.

This new collection delivers the popular and timeless sounds of these classic analog synthesizers with all advantages and technical possibilities that today's KRONOS technology has to offer.

EXs65 is now avaiable on the Korg website:

http://www.korg.com/kronos/SoundLibraries

Download and try the demo version for free, and then when you're ready, buy the authorization code at the special introductory price of $49.00 (offer expires August 31 2012; regular price is $99.00).

* System requirements

To install EXs65, you'll need:
* KRONOS software version 1.5.0 or later
* Approximately 220MB or more space on the internal disk To load the sounds into memory, you'll need:
* Approximately 25MB free RAM

* Demo mode and authorization codes

You can download the EXs65 data for free. Initially, it will work in demo mode. You'll be able to play, edit, and save Programs, Combis, Wave Sequences, and Songs which use EXs65 - but until you purchase an authorization code, their sound will fade out periodically. To purchase an authorization code, go to the online shop at http://www.korg.com/kronos/SoundLibraries. Once purchased, entering the authorization code into the KRONOS removes the audio limitations of demo mode - no additional downloads required.

Best regards,
KORG

I have just succesfully installed demo.
Unzip EXs65.zip

You get
EXs65.exsins
SO65
EXs65.tar.gz

Copy to USB stick and from either this stick or copied to Kronos SSD select EXs65.exsins. Then the red intall button shows up.
First time I selected the .gz file and got error you did.

Then load the pcg and kcs file

I tried the demo and liked it so much , bought it.
For me, I found some excellent synth strings sounds, which dont exist in standard Kronos libraries. There is even a couple that sound like some of my favourite Omnisphere string pads. So well worth the half price cost. Demo it.

seapea, I read that some libraries are not un-installable. I would like to demo this, and I expect I will want to buy it, but just in case I don't, can it be uninstalled?

Just bought it. At 49$, it's a non brainer. At 100$, i would have think twice before buying it. The samples are rawer(?) than the analog waves from Korg. They definately have their place. But, if i may say again: These guys really love reverb!! Even more than Korg programmers. Some great programs, some so-so. I already made a nice pad from one of their programs. Cool stuff.

There's one multi-sample that goes down D-C#-C-B, oops E instead of Bb, and down from E after that. But, i give a 4 stars on whole. Way better than their Virtual Analog(based on AL-1, MS-20 and PolySix)KRS... this one, one star.

Cant say for sure. But wasn't that issue fixed in v1.6. I installed demo but then entered the KEY once I bought it, to unlock

Make sure you select the right .inst file. There's two in the EXs65 folder. IIRC, it's the one that's lower in the list of files that you must select.
