4/4 -> 3/4 Variations

Just curious. Has anyone tried saving a 4/4 variation into a style written in 3/4? (My Microarranger arrives two days from now)

This is one way to get quick-and-dirty 3/4 loops for Ableton live - lopping off the last beat of a 4/4 loop. I'm wondering if this might work for Styles (or variations within styles) The manual says you're not supposed to do it, which implies that you can, but I wonder about the result.

Well, if noone has tried it I'll be the first. I'll stop if I smell smoke....
