Kronos back from Korg - anyone else had a new motherboard?

I've been trying to load the Karo Tape Instrument 1 and 2 EXs.
I've downloaded them to PC, extracted them and copied to both a memory stick and an external HDD.
I get the same "File load error" when trying to install from either.
Any ideas?

Maybe Korg support can help or otherwise there must be some contact address for Karo I assume?

Make sure the folders EXs57 and EXs58 are at the root of the key of external hard drive, and not the files themselves. Then go to disk and select the exsins file, then click on Install.
Can you reach that stage or is that where you're experiencing problems ?

Almost certainly unrelated but now I can't power up at all.
I shut down after trying the library load.
Turned back on an hour later and nothing - no lights, no fan.
This occurred a couple of times when I first got it, put down to a faulkty power cable as it was ok after that.
Checked the PSU and it has 230V in, but only one 5V out - the rest of the outputs are 0V.
There is a green light on the system board, otherwise all dead.
Looks like the PSU has died - replacement under warranty methinks.

Returned to Korg UK for repair - hope it's back before the next gig
Confidence now dented.

Hey Alan -- sorry to hear of your troubles. My Kronos cannot be trusted anymore and sits at home.

my Kronos73 died today. I played in the morning, went out of home for half an hour and when I came back, the unit was dead! @alanjpearson, can you keep us updated about the repair? How long did they say the repair will take?

Nightmare - sympathies to you. Never nice to suffer something like that.
Hope it gets better soon.

Hi Tony
Will do.
Quote is for around £200 for a new motherboard (my US dealer is paying) - they would not commit to a time to repair as "it is new and we may not have parts!" - oh dear

You missed the point - can I trust it after it failed?
Thats all i would need in the middle of a gig.

This has been discussed . It would be best to have a backup at a gig.

I use THREE keyboards at a gig and a rack.
I don't carry a backup - these things should be reliable.
When flightcased you couldn't get a midges dick in the back of my SUV, let alone another keyboard.
If the Kronos proves to be unreliable it will soon appear on EBay.
