EXs13 Jazz Drums Expansion Kit.

Post by michelkeijzers »

Just received:

Dear KRONOS user,

Korg is pleased to announce a new EXs expansion library for the KRONOS: EXs13 Jazz Drums Expansion Kit.

This is an expansion kit for the Jazz Ambience Drums included in the Korg Kronos presets. This collection focuses on unique drum and percussion sounds created using a variety of techniques including mallets, brushes, and multi-rods (bundles of thin bamboo sticks). Adding to the regular percussion palette are cymbal crescendos and other beautiful mallet sounds, brushes that transform a conventional 8-beat rhythm into elegant jazz sounds, and multi-rod sounds that are perfect for acoustic performances. All of these sounds are easy to use, and will set off your other instruments to their maximum advantage. Try substituting these sounds on a drum track that you've already created, and experience the dramatic difference that a change in sticks can make.

EXs13 includes approximately 1 GB of PCM samples, 48 Programs, and 12 Drumkits.

EXs13 will be available at 9PM EST on March 29, 2012 on the Korg website:

http://www.korg.com/kronos/SoundLibraries

Download and try the demo version for free, and then when you're ready, buy the authorization code at the special introductory price of $199.00 (Regular price: $249.00).

* System requirements

To install EXs13, you'll need:
- KRONOS software version 1.5.0 or later
- Approximately 1.05 GB or more space on the internal disk

To load the sounds into memory, you'll need:
- Approximately 129 MB free RAM

If loading only EXs13, 2 GB of physical RAM can be used. However, when using other EXs options simultaneously in addition to preloaded sounds, 3 GB of physical RAM is recommended. KRONOS system version 1.5.0 adds support for the professional installation of additional RAM; for more information, see the documentation for the 1.5.0 update. With 2 GB of physical RAM, you can still use EXs13 and EXs10, but you’ll need to unload some of the preload samples first. For more information, see “Loading EXs13 and other EXs options with only 2 GB of installed memory” on page 8 of the included EXs13 Owner's Manual.

* Demo mode and authorization codes

You can download the EXs13 data for free. Initially, it will work in demo mode. You'll be able to play, edit, and save Programs, Combis, Wave Sequences, and Songs which use EXs13 - but until you purchase an authorization code, their sound will fade out periodically. To purchase an authorization code, go to the online shop at http://www.korg.com/kronos/SoundLibraries. Once purchased, entering the authorization code into the KRONOS removes the audio limitations of demo mode - no additional downloads required. For more information, see the EXs13 Owner's Manual.

We hope that you enjoy these additions to the KRONOS as much as we enjoyed creating them!

Best regards,
KORG

Thanks Rich, downloading now and greatly looking forward to trying this one out. It sounds like a considerable amount of work has been going into these expansions and it's a very exciting time to be a KRONOS owner.

Can't get past Install button for Exs13

Post by Alexia »

I recently upgraded my Kronos OS to 2.1.1.

I am trying to install the 2012 EXs13 Jazz Expansions demo that I also just downloaded fresh.

Downloads from both Firefox and Chrome won't get past the install button with the message "Failed. Exsinstall .exsins file error"

Thanks in advance.

Hello Alex,

Please be sure that You put the installation files (EXs13.tar.gz, EXs13.exsins, S013) inside a folder named EXs13. Yesturday
This week I helped some friends with a similar problem and all had moved the installation files to pen drive out of the original folder.

Make sure to follow the instructions included with the download! These include copying the folder, and also explain how to load the sounds after installation.
