Piano for live use

I am a new Kronos user who just used it live for the first time. I found my piano to be thin in the mids. I realized I had been running in stereo at home while setting up my sounds. When I got back home I connected to my stage monitor (in mono) and tried to adjust the EQ to compensate but could not get a full sound in mono.
Finally I went to the "Oasys MONO" piano and adjusted the EQ a little brighter and it seemed like it will do the trick. I'll find out at practice tomorrow.
I think the EXS pianos sound great for studio but may not fit in a live mono mix very well?
Just curious what everyone uses as their "stage piano" or if you have any suggestions to make the exs piano more present in mono.

Hello,
There are several earlier threads for this subject.
But try using IFX nr 14. The enhancer/exciter. It works very well with the German Grand. Use both the eq setting and the enhancer.
It works for me in my popband.

I think there is a better way to do this.
Watch the following video where RichF is introducing the SGX-1 engine.
At 4:40 he is talking about the "Velocity Intensity".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cuAxMHxUVTM
Tweaking this parameter at negative numbers, gives you a more "discrete" sound witch is exactly what you need in a Pop-Rock band.
Try using this with the German Piano and you will be amazed!
The Exciter/Enhancer is a good way to do it too, but gives you a "thinner" sound compared to the "Velocity Intensity" tweaking.
Hope i helped!

I did use this parameter also. But it does not change the sound, it changes the velocitycurve. You dont have to hit hard to get in the higher velocity layers.
I dont use it anymore because you loose the dynamics of the piano a bit.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did find the other threads about this. I will definitely try these tricks.
Right now my “Oasys Mono” piano sound is tied to 3 FX which gets to be a pain when using in a combo. But I only have to do it once.

Not that you haven't, but try just using the L/MONO output on the Kronos (only one mono connection).
Many times when stereo mixes are combined, phase cancellation can result, making the sound thin.
