How to uninstall an EXs?

So I've installed to EXs12 demo, and had a play with it. If I do buy it, it probably won't be for a few months. So I'd like to free up some disk space when I've finsihed trialling it.
How do I uninstall the EXs? It installs it on a part of the file system that's not user accessible, and there's nothing in the manual about it. Accessing the Installed Options tab in Global doesn't have any option for uninstalling an option.
Any ideas?

I'm starting to get the sinking feeling that there is no way to uninstall this piano short of reinitializing the whole Kronos. If this is true, and I hope it's not, then I will NEVER install another library from korg again. I hope I'm wrong!

Well preventing you from uninstalling it is one way of encouraging users to buy the demo
I have been through every option in "Global" and "Disk", I've read the manual and I'm certain there's no way to remove an installed EXs short of reinstalling from DVD. I even backed-up and tried using the "Format" option in Disk, but that only clears the user-accessible portion of the disk.
I'm investigating the feasibility of creating an uninstaller.

That can't be right ...you can't expect people to trial demos and then not be able to get rid of them if they don't want it after trying it. There must be a way but I can't find it.

Seems to be that way
I've even tried using some "alternative means" to remove this EXs, which have been unsuccessful due to the fact that Korg digitally sign the installer.
The only success I've had is getting the "media info" tab to tell me the SSD is empty when it is in fact full

Whoops.
Good question, SeedyLee

Hmm,...
I was afraid of this after purchasing the KRS 04 and having it scramble things a bit (could be all in my brain

), prior to updating to KRONOS System Version 1.5.0.
I'm not sure if all the banks were reset back to factory setting after the OS update but I can tell you even then,
I was terribly confused because there appear to be duplicates after installing the KRS 04
and has been the hesitation of me installing any other KRS or EXs.
Of course, price also played a part in the hesitation as well

Bank data is not reset with OS updates. And, EXs and KRS are completely different.
EXs are kind of like additions to the ROM sample files. They must be installed in a very specific way, which is why they use an installer app.
KRS are simply files with Programs, Combis, etc. There is no installation process per se, and all files are user-viewable. Loading these files is exactly the same as loading your own sounds.
Hope this helps,
Dan

Re uninstalling an EXs: currently, there is no way to do so. However, we are aware that this is a desirable feature. That's all that I can say for now.
Response much appreciated!!!

Thank you so much, Dan for your response.
We truly appreciate you taking out your time to capture our thoughts and requests as well as sharing them with the Korg team.
Btw, If you get a chance please sir - Can you please read the following as well.
Love the Kronos and we believe this will be the icing on the cake if possible.

I do have to admit, there is so much to learn
and I'm having some issues fully understanding where and what the
differences are between the EXs and KRS(s) and how they are loaded in the banks.
Almost thought I saw duplicates after loading the KRS 04
I believe someone on the forum came up with a way to
reset everything to factory setting with a couple of extra steps.
But, it would also be good if there was a way to just do it with
ONE setting with the OS like in
Global Mode with the option of also removing the EXs.
Sure would make it easy for chaps like me that don't learn or read very fast.
Thanks again for everything you have done for the community and team!

You can restore the factory settings simply by loading the FACTORY.PCG file. See "Restoring the factory settings" in the Operation Guide.
Best regards,
Dan

I guess it's not "a desirable feature".
It's rather a basic "must work" function, and you know it.
Waiting for the OS Fix.
Great to see you and Rich back with all your knowledge and skill.

Thanks very much for the reply Dan! It's a shame there's no way to remove an EXs directly via the system.
I can see that the EXs must be installed into /korg/mnt/rw/PCG (from memory), hence why it isn't visible in the disk page.
Personally, I'm quite festidious about keeping my hard drives clean, so naturally it irks me that there's something unremovable on the SSD that consumes 1/5th of the space! I use the Kronos often for audio recording, so that 6GB is precious to me.
I'm working on a few different ways of getting rid of the EXs. but since the EXs installer and system software updaters are cryptographically signed, creating one to do this can only (feasibly) be done by Korg.
That means the most viable option at this stage is to perform the removal pre-boot. It may be possible to put together an alternate system installer that only removes EXs files, since there doesn't appear to be anything in hardware to perform a cryptographic verification at thsi stage.
If it's possbile to boot the Kronos from USB flash, that would make the process much easier - anyone able to confirm if this is possible as I haven't tried?

I think this is what you are after.

Seems Korg could approach this one of two ways. The easy way would be to create an uninstall script just like the install script that comes with the EXs. This could be a simple download. The slicker solution would be to have an uninstall button in GLOBAL-OPTIONS INFO. That would require an OS update.
