Is this just a cheap remake or a serious less expensive alternative to the Wavedrum?

Just a copy but that doesn't have to mean it won't sound good. It may sound great but it certainly doesn't seem to have the same button functions. I would find a manual and read through it first the. See what used wavedrums are going for. I don't know the company so I would be more inclined to want to try it first or wait for others to be first adopters and hear what they have to say. When prices are lower you have to wonder why, less function? Cheaper less durable parts? Just saying it makes me wonder.

Exactly the same questions and considerations I have.
I searched for a demo but didn't succeed.

Ah, this must be the same thing that they actually had the audacity to display at NAMM. It was in the downstairs section of the convention center where most of the smaller independent companies are set up, as well as slew of Chinese and Taiwanese importers and knock-off fabricators.

Someone mentioned it to me on the last day of the show and I meant to take a look for myself. The reports I heard were that it was pretty lame. In the end, I totally forgot about it until this thread. But if it really has only an 8" head as advertised, that would be a serious drawback from the get-go.

For some reason, I don't think this thing will be on the market very long.

You think they would at least try to make it look different than the Wavedrum. Even the little bumps are there.
:?

thats a sample player , no ALGos...

I found it it on the www last year.
here is the manual :

http://www.speedyshare.com/file/cg622/S ... ual-EN.pdf

As I understand ,
It has no editable sounds , only editable effects ,
but it does have a pressure sensor ,that influences effects and muting.
(interesting for an expression pedal modification...)
Also the sample collection could be editable , who knows ?

in the end its only a sample pad.
