hello korgers
I used to visit the electribe forum for years having owned each model up til they released the SD card versions. i no longer own 'tribes as I have Elektron machines now. I did get a Kp3 recently off ebay and I fear I may have been sold a box of rocks.

Actually thats an overstatement. Everything appears to work, except for the slider on the left. I don't have a manual yet, so I apologize, but can you tell me what the slide on the left is supposed to be doing, cuz right now it does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

At this point I've not done a whole lot with the Kp3 other than turn the selector knob and swipe my fingers across it.
I need to learn to sample better with it. Right now it seems like the kp3 is locked to a certain length of sampling and it wont' do shorter or longer live sampling (is this resampling?)

anyway nice to be here...

The slider controls the master volume of the sample banks. If you hold shift and use it, it affects the amount of delay you get when you remove pressurre from the touchpad. The obvious question I will ask is, do you have samples loaded into any of the banks when you try moving the slider?

Regarding length, you can change the beats after you hit Sample...a number should appear in the display, 16, 8, etc. Also remember that if the bpm is very slow or fast, that will affect the length as well. But you can always stop the sampling process midway if you want one shots (as opposed to loops). A one shot becomes red, and a looped sample will be green.

Resampling means sampling samples onto another bank. Say you have A, B, and C playing, and you want to put a delay effect over all 3 and turn into a new sample...hit shift+sample and select the new bank (D), and apply the effect as it is sampling. D will now be resampled (A,B, C, + the delay).
