Legacy Cell

Well guys, it looks like Korg has buried Legacy Cell. And that's lousy considering the issues they left us hanging out to dry with it. There's more problems with it than any other single thing as you can tell by the number of posts regarding it. I wrote to Korg canada, got one answer that didn't help at all and sent a second letter listing what he asked for and got no presonse. I am convinced it's because the language propeties under the .dll is Japanese as every other one of the Legacy synths have it listed as english. I am sure the hosts can't read it when it's Japanese. When you load it and it asks for the language, of course I say english only to see later that it's Japanese. This is probably why it works fine as a free standing synth but not as a VST instrument.

I am not sure what problem you are having, but I have no trouble using any of the Legacy Cell applications as either VSTs or Standalone (Sonar 8, PC Win XP 32).

I don't have any problem with any of the others, I am talking specifically about Legacy Cell. The others work fine.

What exactly is the nature of the problem? Cell won't load as plugin? Which host(s)? Which OS? Why do you say Korg has "buried" Legacy Cell?

When I load Cubase and then look at the devices lsitings, Cubase loads the .dll, but lists it as unloadable. When you pull out the meny to load VST instruments, Legacy Cell is consequently not listed. As I said, it works fine as a stand alone. And it used to work fine in Cubase but that's a while ago now. Fortunatley, I have lots of fantastic softsynths that work fine in Cubase as do all of my other Legacy instruments. Note, I mean Legacy cell specifically, the one that can use 2 instances of the MS20 or Polysix in any combination.

No joy with Legacy Cell on Windows 7 for me. Launching the standalone version simply does nothing. No crash, no pop up. Changing compatibility mode doesn't seem to help either.

Likewise Ableton Live doesn't see the dll for Legacy Cell.

Have you contacted your local Korg distributor for support yet?

Are you sure you have all the necessary plug-ins installed, including the MDE-X effects plugin?

This did it for me, legacy cell now works in stand alone and in Cubase 6 32bit.

Korg Legacy Cell - Problem with Cubase 6.5 64 Bit

Hi,

I'm having a huge problem with the Korg Legacy Cell in Cubase 6.5 - 64 Bit.

When I load the VST Instrument, it shows the UI for the Legacy Cell. But it stays empty. So basically I cannot edit any instrument.
However, the sound and preset's are there and usable.

The stand alone vesion also works fine and all other single instuments of the Legacy Collection are there and usable. Meaning the UI works in Cubase AND stand alone.

Only the Legacy Cell is having this problem.

I'm having a PC with 64 Bit and Windows 7.

Can somebody please help?

Do you need any further info?

Best regards,
Thomas

same issue in cubase

Hi guys,

very disappointing email from the German KORG support.
They said they don't want to fix this issue. It's a 32 Bit Application and they mentioned it beforhand.

I discussed with them but no chance....

Maybe you can try again.

It's such an amazing instument and I just cannot understand they are not willing to invest the work.

Best regards,
Thomas
