ESX-1 & Akai Miniak

Hello, I use an ESX-1 & now I'm thinking about buying an Akai Miniak.
Does anyone here have experience with this combination? Do they work good together? Or is there any difference of esx-1 with microkorg as compared to esx-1 with miniak?
I want to do some sequencing, the ESX-1 as master, the Miniak as slave.
And also other things.
