They might be done with the monotribe, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a new electribe in a couple years :D

It is what it is, I don't understand why ppl hate on this.

I think korg isn't done with the electribe, but who cares if it is ? something new will come along it always does.

The monotribe maybe over priced imo, but its fun yoiu can take it most places....hook it up to a digital recorder or minidisc or something, jam away and stick it in a wave editor and work with it from there.

I'm glad they made it the filter is fun, I stick my tb303 through it, it's just a shame its kind of a gate input I heard the monotron wasn't.

overpriced, why do you think so. Because it lacks midi or something?

there's a lot of tiny analogue little boxes come out in the past few years (Oberheim SEM, DSI Mopho/Tetra, Doepfer Dark Energy, Vermona Lancet, Jomox MBase/MBrane, many more) Korg finally joined the crowd.

i assume that the gate will not affect the audio if you keep it on the wide open setting

(as on the audio in of an electribe)

when partially closed, it can do many awesome rhythmic gates
of an external (even rhythmless) sound.

im going to film a video of it now for NoiseBug.net synth shop, see my YT page within the next day.

in general, the monotribe sounds BETTER, and is funner than the videos Ive
seen thus far would suggest!

Ya it is a big shame it doesn't have midi, i think I was being a bit harsh about the price seeing as most of the other boxes are around the £400 mark, although the build quality is much better than the Korgs in general.

Personally I suppose you can get a converter for the midi. I think some of the other boxes have a much bigger sound such as my x0x. Again most cost more.

The guy I bought it from was one of Moogs head egineers here in the UK and he seems to think it is gr8 value. So who am I to say.
Personally I don't find it as usefull as say a x0x or the Lancet.

things will get better when people hack the drum section!

giving up more knobs, pitch, volume, decay etc.

it really is 4 synths in one if we can get at the other 3

midi to CV converters cost money,
you an pay over 100 for just that in a modular system.

they left it out to keep the price down.

otherwise the whiners would be twice as loud if it was $320 - 400
instead of $220 - what a deal.

I could see playing at least 3 monotrons synched up!
one to synthesize a booming low kick.

you need to hear the monotron on a decent sound system!

yt audio does not do it justice.
