PA system and Power amp Question...

Hello everyone, i'll try make this short and simple... I have 2x Ev ZX4 speakers @ 400watts 8ohm. and 2x Ev Zx5 speakers 600watt @ 8ohm.

The amp I am running them off is a Behringer EP2500, 2x1200watt @ 2ohms.

I was wondering is it with investing some money into a better quality/brand amp, like crown? was looking at the Crown XS1200. its stronger then my current amp, and figured it would run the PA system smoother...and without heating up as much maybe.

Someone told me that my current amp is running those 2x1200watts in a dual mode, bridged i think it was, not quite sure on what that exactly means, anyway there he thinks im slightly underpowered.

Would appreciate if somone could clarify this for me and see if its worth getting that crown XS1200.
