Hello all,

I've been playing around and having fun with Ableton Live, but recently stumbled across the most amazing, creative tools....the KPro and the KP3. I dug deep and ordered them both, and they should be arriving Monday. I expect I'll be spending a lot of time on this forum, as it seems very helpful.

So I have a question that's been plaguing my mind:

I am a little unsure of the order to assemble things when they come. I have an audio interface (Firewire 410), the KPro and the KP3.

Is it just straight up, audio out from the soundcard and into the KPro, then into the KP3, and then audio out to my self powered speakers?

Do people ever use mixers?

I also got a KPro because it's an amazing, creative tool. I don't have a KP3 yet, but I'm planning to get one soon.

Generally speaking the difference between them (as you probably already know), is that the KPro is a synthesizer, while the KP3 is a sampler.
I plan to connect the audio output of the KPro (RCA jacks) to the audio input of the KP3 (also RCA), and use the KP3 to sample and filter the music coming from the KPro. The audio output from the KP3 (RCA) then goes to a mixer audio input.

The reason I'm using a mixer is that I also have a Korg Electribe and a Yamaha electric piano, and I want to mix the music from the three instruments together before I send it out to the recording device.

If you're not going to mix multiple audio streams together, then you don't need to invest in a mixer (yet).
