I've had several boards in the past (Roland, Korg, Alesis, Sequential Circuits, Yamaha). I'm no expert and really you can't learn much about keyboards from me at all. But I decided to join here because I have 3 keyboards (including a newer MicroKorg) and I just purchased a Korg PS-60 yesterday and I wanted to connect with other users and potential PS-60 owners. I figured this would be a good place to do it.
JFYI...
I'm not into workstations or computer recording linkings, big (88 key) gargantuan boards costing $3000+ that weigh a ton....nor do I like the little Walmart toys.
I like a good, no non-sense short (61 key) keyboard. Easy to use on stage with the basic tools/sounds for performance & on-the-fly tweaking.
The new PS-60 I just ordered looks like it was made just for me (no joke), like I designed the thing myself. I just hope they put enough quality in the structure of the board. I did order a case as well (Gator GKPE-49-TSA) which may be too small, but I'm hoping my calculations are on the mark and it will just barely fit. (fingers are crossed)
I also ordered a new stand for it {Quik-Lok KDS450MA Profile Multi-Adjustable Keyboard Stand}, but it's not even listed on the Quik-Lok website (yet Musicians Friend has it listed, but as a special order)...still trying to figure that one out.
I'm not in any need of advise, I'm really here just to share my experiences and to see how others feel about the new PS-60. (so I can hear about any flaws/bugs to look for)
