hi everyone,
my emx seems to be a little overpowered on the volume, i mean already at 1/4 of the volume knob the output is very loud and the tubes easily go in distortion right before half of the knob tubes complete run.

I found the service manual googling around but it doesn't report about anything like this.

is there something that you guys can suggest?

thanks in advance! :)

Look at the stickies here. People change their tubes out for new ones to reduce this. I can run my tube drive knob fully to the right now that I upgraded to JJs.

thanks for the reply,

I supposed that this could be addressed to those specific valves, but after trying out an ESX with exactly the same type of tubes that kept the sound clean while raising up valves, I preferred to ask for an opinion :)

Maybe i'll try to switch valves from the ESX and the EMX to see if the problem migrates also :)

thanks for now :)

Well I do not have the ESX. But the EMX I bought had stock tubes and they were just like yours. They distorted excessively rather fast when turned up halfway. The upgraded JJ tubes do not distort with the knob maxxed. Instead they just give you great tonal saturation.
