need help for Nanopad, Please!

Post by Slaptop »

I have gotten as far as getting everything installed, drivers, the Kontrol editor, EZ Drummer lite, etc, but I'm lost as to what to do or how to do it from there on. What I need to find is a set of step by step instructions for the Nanopad for people that don't know anything much about MIDI or controllers etc.
I have looked for months now without any success. Everything I've found assumes you already know everything about MIDI and set ups, mostly I only find examples of people playing it.
I've tried using it with the included EZ drummer program but only a few pads will produce a sound and almost always with a long delay and not always twice in a row. I finally found the latency adjustment but it doesn't seem to help much no matter where I set it.
I use Reaper for recording, and it see's it as a MIDI device and records a MIDI track when I press a pad, but playing it back I just get, well nothing, or just some horrible sounds is the only way I can describe them. I tried a couple of the VST instruments, snyths and such, which is where the horrible sounds come from. Anyone know how to get it to play drums, like the EZ Drummer ones?
I mostly bought it to use with the laptop, to play drums like I see people do in all the videos I've found. I would settle for being able to do just that.
So Please if you know where I can find the help I need post me a link.
Thanks for your help.

Latency can be down to Audio drivers. Have you ASIO drivers installed?

If not - get them at http://www.asio4all.com/

Make sure ASIO drivers are selected in the Options/Preferences bit of your DAW.
