How to build a groove in pandora pa5d ?

Hi All,
I just now bought my new Pandora px5d and its wonderful
I like to use one of the existing chain and to record on it a nice groove.
Is it possible to record more than one pattern/groove or it’s the maximum?
if yes how can I do that via the hardware (I done like to use the SoundEditor)
