Hello everyone. I'm new in this forum, hope i will enjoy my stay.

I m from Bangladesh. I was about to purchase Korg M3 from a store over here. Since there is no Korg Dealer in Bangladesh, they usually bring product from outside with a very high price. After taking my order, they bought it from Singapore and claimed it was an intake product. When I was delivered and I was about to test the product, the first thing I experienced was PSoC Error while it was updating the right panel during booting. I have read two of the posts related to PSoC error and none of them were detailed.

So my questions are:
1. How and why this PSoC error occurs? How can it be fixed?
2. The keyboard they were trying to sell me, is it really a brand new product or not?
3. How to detect whether I get the product is brand new or not?

I am very much frustrated, I hope i could get some help here.

That doesn't sound good!

Although I never heared about such a problem, it seems to be related to a problem with the Programmable System-on-Chip (PSoC) that is most likely the heart of the M3. Either the chip is defect or the PSoC configuration data (stored on the internal flash memory) is corrupted.

You cannot fix it by yourself, and opening the module would break the warranty conditions. Bring it back to your dealer and ask for a replacement or repair.

As to your 2nd question: if there are any signs of usage e.g. soilings or scratches on the surface or display, then it is not new. It should also have been delivered to you in the original box that has a KORG label on it.

I had the same error when I bought the M3. Only way is to get a replacement. I contacted Korg US and they suggested to get replacement if possible from the store and since it was brand new, i got a replacement from the store. No details about the error is available.

go back to the store NOW (as in NOW!),

don't think about it one second more.

Ask for a new M3 or refund,

and don't accept any excuse.

If the m3 was the store's, you'll get out quickly.

If they sold it on behalf of some guy who already got the money,

it will be a bit harder (this is why doing it quickly is of essence).

Niceties don't mix well with screwed-up chips and second-hand instruments.

Thanks a lot everyone. I already have asked for a replacement. They were giving excuses like while transportation, such problem occurred. They claimed it's a brand new thing. I think these replies will help. Though finally they agreed to replace the product.
