Any good Sample sites?

Post by fireincairo82 »

Does anyone happen to know where I can find a good sample web site? I'm relatively new to this aspect of it and am looking for a place where there are share samples, like the 'ahhhhh' in the Beautiful People, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

I understand that clearly. I have a cheap little Casio that is capable and would like to get my fingers on a few different, already made, good quality samples, instead of monkey-ing w doing it myself. I would imagine I should be able to MIDI them together and trigger them when I need to, no?

A cheap little Casio capable of sampling? Maybe you are referring to "sounds", "patches", etc.?

Actually there was a cheap little casio capable of sampling, some friend was having it...it was a little keyboard, with a microphone inside,....but in an ugly ugly ugly quality of sampling, of course...

Anyway, which sounds you are looking for? what do you need? Did you try the supercharged m3 sounds? you can load them on the M50

I am using Designer Sound FX (link:http://www.videocopilot.net/products/dsfx/) for sound effects sample. Those are awesome..!! And for other tone such as Piano, Drums you can use M-audio premium sound set... :D

Thanks for all the input. Yes, the Casio WK200 is fully capable of sampling, either w an external microphone or by direct plug in of a cd player, iPod, etc. VERY limited memory, but for what I'm doing now (specifically Head Like a Hole and the Beautiful People) it'll do just fine to cut my teeth.

Doesn't the m50 have the same sound bank as the m3? And I was unaware that you can load any samples on to the m50. I'm getting more lost than I was. I was just looking for a somewhere to find samples and loops of various songs that have already been done; just being lazy I suppose. But if somebody else has done it and shared it, why not? Remember, I'm new to sampling and sequencing, etc. Although I've successfully thrown together a 13 track version of Closer (minus the guitar we do live and vocals) that is near impossible to tell from the original...(self back pat).

You can load programs and combis from the M3 onto the M50. The M3 has more programs than the M50 does. You can't, of course, load the M3 EXpanded programs and combis, since those use samples that the M50 can't load.

Then if thats the case this topic is in a wrong place thats why people got confused.
What you asked has NOTHING AT ALL to do with M50...it should be done on some
other forum or in the Sampling section in here...if you use the M50 as a controller
for somekind of machine the question doesnt necesarilly belong here, thats why you
get mixed answers. If it was in a proper category then you would probably get more
reasonable answer. M50 and Samples have no place together, no matter if you controll
the unit with M50 or not. Its like asking how do i make a Cake on a Computer forum.

Such hostility. Ultimately I'm looking for a way to cheat and incorporate this into the m50 somehow. Thus the reason I want to find some samples that are shared and experiment with using the m50 as a controller or finding some way to cheat the system and use samples thru the m50. These are two separate issues, but tied together and ultimately I'm looking for m50 users to help lead the way or possibly give me something that I haven't thought of

But this has pretty much nothing to do with the M50. You're starting in the wrong place, as Basari said. On your other device, find out what options you have to trigger samples via MIDI, then come back and ask, 'How do I send MIDI message X from the M50'. Starting with the M50 can't possibly help you.

There's no way to 'cheat the system' and there's no way to 'use samples through the M50'. You can trigger external samples on some other device by sending MIDI messages from the M50, but that's it.
