velocity!!!!

i noticed theres no velocity button on the m50 .. i want to hit a key soft of hard and the same velocity measure comes out the same ..does anyone know how i can do that ?

I dont think there is a Velocity Button on any keyboard, i owned over 30-40 of
them and never saw any button, on most Keyboard that can be done in the
Utility/Global Mode and probably the same on the M50, if it IS there then its in
Global Mode the first Page, it will say Velocity and numbers after that.

You can edit particular programs to ignore velocity. Go into the Amp Modulation pages for the oscillators in a program and you'll see that most programs have Velocity set as the AMS source for the Amp Mod. Set a different (or no) source, or turn the intensity to 0.

If the M50 is like the TR in this respect (I can't be bothered to download the M50's manual and look it up), you can't set a constant global velocity, though you can set a velocity curve. None of the curves in the TR appear to offer a constant velocity regardless of how hard you hit the keys.

I just read the Manual, its same as on M3, its on the first Global Basic Page
as on the M3 and thats what i am talking about, the Velocity Curve Param.
Thats what he needs to do and of course it will affect Velocity which of course
is already edited on factory Programs and i believe 99% of them have some effect.

A curve is, by definition, not constant, so no, it doesn't do what he wants, though it can come close, if you have a shallow curve where all but the hardest presses make quiet sounds, or a very steep curve where all but the lightest presses make the loudest sounds. If this is good enough, great; if you need an absolutely constant response, what I've said about AMS is the answer you need.

kanthos is right, you cannot switch off the velocity sensitivity in the Global mode. Go to Tone Adjust, upper row, touch a folder, search for AMP Vol (left side) and change the Value to -99. You have to to it per timbre.

I'm trying to get the factory Session Brass program to have constant full volume (no velocity influence). I set Amp Mod 1 and Amp Mod 2 Velocity Intensities to +00 and AMS source to Off, but there is no change. What else can I try?

The old DX-7 used to have such a curve that let you more accurately imitate the non-response of a true organ keyboard.

Unfortunately there's not one for the m50 as an imposed curve. The curves that come closest are 8,7 and 6 which get to a velocity of 127 with fairly light playing. It will hit v127 early on in these curves and since you can't get any louder than that, playing with a heavier touch should get you close to what you want -- a maximum velocity response at medium to hard velocities.

BTW: It's not zero response you want it's maximum at all times. Try 127 instead of zero and you might get what you want. Also there should be no velocity/volume reduction assigned to let off or release as those may effect filter or modulatory effects

Amp mod velocity should be set to zero for constant velocity. Check the filter velocity response too.

For Session Brass, on P2 OSC/Pitch, try the following:
Select the OSC1 Basic tab at the bottom of the screen and change the bottom velocity for MS1(High) from 075 to 001.
Then select the OSC2 Basic tab at the bottom of the screen and do the same thing - change the bottom velocity for MS1(High) from 075 to 001.
