I need to know what mode to be in to have korg triton le record muti and playback multi midi channels. Im using cakewalk 6 pro and it seems to play only one sound at a time.. Do I have to be in program, combi or seq mode?

Thanks for you help in advance, Joe

Sequencer mode. you don't actually have to use the 'sequencer part'. It is already set up though with 16 timbres across the 16 MIDI channels.

Keep in mind though that you won't get the effects that are on the programs. A program has access to the whole 1IFX and 2MFX that the LE/TR can do, the same as in a Combi or in sequencer mode, in total. most of the programs will make use of all of these, so they will sound really dry in seq mode (or when making a combi) at first.

That means you have to get creative with effects and make compromises if you want to record something that involves more than one chorus, flanger, amp sim, etc...

If it fits with your workflow, it may be an idea to not have your sequencer send program change messages, volume, or pan messages. Instead, set all these up yourself in the mix and program pages, set up your own effects, then save the sequencer file for use with your project.

Alternatively if you want to keep a complete combi or program sound without doing any effects etc programming, just record the audio. if you record a MIDI track at the same time, you can still change your mind about the sound, and re-record the audio with a new program or combi by sending the MIDI track back out to the synth.
