Got your attention??

I don't know how to easily explain what I am looking for... except the answer is go out and buy a $$3-10K keyboard...

Here goes...
I wondered if anyone had a patch sounding like a Very Expensive keyboard sound but in the X50
I have gone through every one of the patches... even found out there are Category with both "C" and "A" which was fun to find.. but there's nothing that is very impressive in the "stock" patches of EP/Tines/ etc.. have any suggestions?? Someone out there ought make a after market DVD for Easy pro sounds techniques etc etc for the X50... There isn't one out there ..is there????

Guess I need instruction how to layer patches and experiment...

The X50 is exactly the same as the KORG Triton LE and the TR, except it doesn't have a sequencer - almost exactly the same as the MicroX too.

It is also very very very similar to the rest of the Triton line, except parameters will be in a different place because they have a larger touchscreen.

you can also learn a lot from information for the M50 and M3, although they have a different engine and thus there are a bunch of parameters that you won't find on the X50.

but i don't own the Triton or any of the other boards.. so past experience of them won't really help.

I know, but what I was getting at is that you can look for tutorials and videos and such for the triton series and to some extent the M3 and M50 and they will apply to the MicroX too. Particularly tutorials for the TR, Triton LE, MicroX, and KARMA, where a lot of the screen parameter layout and options are virtually or exactly the same.

the X50 has like a 1 1/2" x 2 1/2 screen and even with my bifocals is hard..I do have the 250 page booklet and have read it... I'm just screwing up somewhere and it's frustrating....

When you use the X50 program librarian/editor software on a computer, you can have as big a screen as you want. The editor software is the best way to learn the X50, by far. If you aren't using the editor, then it's like trying to learn how to swim with both arms tied behind your back.

You don't need to hook-up the X50 to run the editor software in order to see how it works, but the X50 is light enough to easily be moved around as needed. Just get a lightweight X-stand. You'll work it out if it's important to you. Otherwise you're just making it much harder for yourself with no benefit. Think of all the children in China who would love to edit your X50 with software, but end up going to sleep at night with 10 siblings in one bed - without having enjoyed creating X50 programs that could fill their hearts with joy when they play the National Anthem.

It is important to me... I think you are correct... maybe actually seeing the
editor in front of me.. will be a relief and educational as well.

I really have read the manual and went over the pages more times than.......anyway I have...I will attempt to hook up the wizzard beast to the pc.

I am already greatly impressed with the stock sounds from this little thing X50... and can't wait to layer some EP Tine sounds and take a bit of rawness that I like in the Organ patches out to mellow a bit. I am using a Boss RT-20 and it adds some nice Leslie..and i know it's possible to program it somewhat... but it works great for the quick fix.
This X50 is Fantastic.... I will have to experiment.... Oh... the joy of learning with 25 siblings around...
I believe I've read there is a newer program that should be downloaded 1st though.
Many thanks {Oh the Wise One} for the encouragement... and the fact... no one can do it but myself... the days of the DX7..pushing a program and playing soon will be back once I learn how to tweak them myself. I use to play a Poly 6..many knobs and whistles.. there are a few on the X50.. and I do know how to use them (sustain EG etc ) already but I will attemp to see the light Obe 1 canoby
