I have one song (Song 001) in which I created a stereo-paired audio track and recorded it to disk. After that I proceed to create a second song (Song 002) using the OASYS sequencer, and copy pasted the region data from Song 001 to Song 002.

Now when I go to the audio event edit mode, for track 01 of the second song, I find that I cannot add or insert a new audio event. Granted you can edit existing audio events, but how do I re-created audio events from scratch using existing region data for an empty audio track?

I'm trying to see if I can develop a workflow using the OASYS sequencer, whereby you use each song as a scratch pad, with minimal setup, copying all the ifx settings, etc, per combi or program, play individual parts using a combi or program into separate songs, and then re-composite all the audio tracks onto a single master song.

I had to select ==== Track End =====, and then press the Insert button to add existing region data.

I just have a question, I initially recorded the two individual tracks, by setting audio track 01 and 02 as a stereo pair, thus resulting in two separate monoaural audio tracks at 48Khz.

Now, for the second song, if I copy paste the region data for Song 002, to create a copy of the same monoaural track 01 and track 02 data, and try to create an audio event for a similar setup in Song 002, the import doesn't work. It works if the audio tracks are not setup to be a stereo-pair.

Ok, found the solution, I had to select two file consecutively, so if in Song 002, you had setup Audio tracks 01 and 02 to be a stereo pair, then click on ==== Track End =====, press the insert button, and in the region data window, select the first L channel track, and then select the R channel track.

You will think nothing happened the second time, since the dialog windows are identical, except for the (stereo) appended to the dialog window title.

The first time it reads Select Region, the second time it reads Select Region (Stereo).

I've also found that the OASYS is efficient on disk space, when doing this, so even if you copy paste region data corresponding to a WAVE file for the second song, it will not physically copy the WAVE file over.

So, you can have multiple region data, all working from the same WAVE file. I guess that's why they have the trim option to re-use the WAVE data.
