Noise when recording to laptop...help!

Hi all

I get a terrible noise when i record from my mixer to the laptop. it comes through the recording and its loud. How can I stop that noise? whats causing the noise? I can clean up the noise after wards but it also affects the audio.

Need help with this...thanx

Is your input signal hot enough? Low signal leads to background noise. I like to keep my input levels peaking around -6db.

hey guys,

first off, yes, input signal is hot and 2nd, sounds like normal noise, then again, mayb it's a ground loop...

what r my options?

get an APEX AHK1 hummkiller it works fine , benok :)
