Sorry I am a noob on this forum and I have tried searching for a patch for Van Halen's Jump, and I am unable to find it anywhere,

But really, JUMP is a very basic program.
if you start from an initialised patch, all you need to do is blend in the second oscillator, set the fine tune to around +6 to +10 cents, and maybe turn the cutoff down slightly.

Personally, I also add a limiter as the IFX, a little bit of drive in the amp section, and maybe a very small amount of noise. You could also turn the unison (voice unison mode not the oscillator 1 unison setting) on.

the original jump sound was a combination of an oberheim brass and an dx7 (FM) brass sound.

Should be no prob for our synths

I'd heard that it was the Oberheim OB-X rather than a layer of two things. If not, the Jump preset that came with my OP-X virtual instrument sounds *very* like the original.

there's a patch called 'jumper' that comes with the r3 thats pretty close, just edit that a little bit and there you go. i'm not looking at my r3 but i think its under vintage poly - 1

Yeah, he's right, there was a "Oberheim Jump" type preset in the R3 Factory sound bank (under Vintage Poly), it's even called "OB Jumpr". It isn't really like the real thing, so it has to be tweaked - it's a good starting point for getting what you're after

I am new to working with patch editing and such. I have a Korg X50 and I was hoping to edit the Detuned Sawtooth patch (Prog: G-82) to sound more like the patch used in Jump. As currently programed, when you let go of the note, it repeats for a while and it sounds really muddy when you get to the solo. What should I change in the editor?

Repeats for a while? Might you mean sustains for a while?

If so, turn down the release time in your amp envelope.
