I need help with korg tr

Post by hernpepe »

Hi everyone, I have a korg tr 61 and I hooked it up to my pc via USB.
I use software for making sequences, I got the keyboard to comunicate good with my pc, however, when I shut down my pc I can no longer hear my keyboard, I turn my pc back on and start the software, and I can now hear my keyboard.....?

What can I do to make my korg TR sound again without having to turn my pc on and start the sequencing program.....

Does anyone know?

thank you.

What is the audio out of your TR connected to?

The USB connection only matters for sending MIDI between your PC and TR; it won't affect the TR's sound generation.

In Global mode, have you disabled Local On (or enabled Local Off; I can't remember which of the two names is actually used by the setting)? If so, then each key you press is sending MIDI data to the computer (INSTEAD of making its own sound; with Local On, the TR will *both* make its own sound *and* send MIDI data) and the computer is routing it back out to the TR, which is what makes the TR sound. Obviously, if you don't have your DAW running or the computer is off, the TR will send data to the computer but nothing will receive it and send it back to the TR, so the TR won't sound.
