But there seems to be one issue that people who have problems with the gear forget. If you put it in perspective , the product is a "MICRO" (something) wich in my ears explains all the "faults" it seems to have. Theese products are a bit grimy and a bit "punk" in the sense that you are supposed to use it (and solve some of the problems yourself).
This is all part of a creative process and the faults are included in it.
(On the other hand... The price is a bit steep for a procuct marketed so hastly.)
A part of my setup has always been the micro korg , and now the MS, wich i bought the moment it came on sale in Helsinki.
In this sense i am a happy consumer, but also critical about gear i use.
I know the issues regarding OS updates and yes, i wait for some improvements myself but this doesent hinder me from spending most of my spare time with it.

(And my wife wants to ask: Is a Korg better than a wife?)

yeah, i like it too, just got back from first rehearsal with it.....i chucked a few synths, organs, multi-sampled some strings, a few loops etc etc and was great to be able to mess about with all of that in the one little unit, away from the pc it was all originally made on....

but there are some simple issues that need fixing, i'm all up for 'punk' and finding workarounds..... but there are a few things that are just plain annoying/oversights/ill-researched and stifle workflow.....

on the whole though, yeah, great sampler/synth. i reckon with a decent/thorough OS update it'll be something i'll keep and use for a long time....

I've been trolling the threads here on the microSampler for a while now to get a jist of what to expect from this unit before i buy.

To me the one thing that clearly stands out as being the main problem is Price. with older Korg gear like the electribes, you got a lot of BANG for your buck. But this new sampler priced at what it is makes it difficult to justify the cost. Those who have bought the unit are not paying a bit grimy and a bit "punk" price here!

If this unit was around $250 (USD) then most everyone would get the whole "punk" feel and forgive ALL of the faults of the unit. But since everyone here has paid a premium price then everyone here are expecting premium features and leaving tips and OS upgrade suggestions which BTW I have a feeling are not going to be made possible (the micro sampler is not a KP3).

Take away the price, the microSampler does exactly what it is supposes to and indeed looks to be a useful tool but at what $500 or $600?!?!?! and has less functionality and less features and less effect choices than an electribe ESX?

most of us have been pretty spoiled here and now it seems korg is saying that "the free ride is over".

of course, but there is something seriously wrong when u make a product intended or live and instant sampling/composing, that misses the autoplaybackloop feature and a metronome that does not sound or so loud ya ears bleed. for the rest we have to bear in mind what is necessary and luxury

It's a solid machine and like all other samplers, it's the way you adapt to it that makes it valuable. This thing works for my purposes and has forced me to get creative in the process. That is worth the cost ($500) to me.
