plug the pedal to the damper jack of your board... if the sustain is reversed (aka the sound sustain when the pedal is up) go to global mode and change the damper polarity...

You can also sustain your sound without having a pedal!

You only have to increase EG-Release, and thats it! :D

every time I shut off the X50 I loose the reversed polarity... how 2 fix that?? also I tried to uncheck the arpegiator... I just play straight keys... and the same thing happens...when i shut the power off i loose the unplugged Arp too... How to fix that??

As long as i am asking all of this... I really like many of the piano patches... but use the SW1 button... is there any way to program the patch so when I use say... PB001 the SW1 will be on along with the selected patch??
I REALLY would appreciate the answers..
Thanks

I can use helpfull advice / shortcut ideas... with re-writing some of my own patches and setting up an "On the Job" set of maybe 50-ish Patches rather than sifting through 560 on stage. I'd appreciate any tips. I realize my own experience will help the most... but any killer patches you want to share or short-cuts for "live on the job" quick changes would help .... I appreciate it.

I believe the X50 works like the TR and Triton line with regards to your questions.

If so, for the first question, you need to write the global settings to memory, just like you would save a program or combi. For the second question, turn SW1 on and then save the program or combi, and it should remember its state.

You open the manual and figure out how to save. It's on the Utility menu, at least in the TR.

My response was well less than half what it would've taken me to type the instructions out step by step.

You see this as someone who 'can't be bothered' to answer your question. From my perspective, and that of many others, there are all kinds of people who come to the forums on a daily basis and ask questions where it's obvious they didn't do any work to figure it out themselves or where they have a sense that they're entitled to the answer.

No one expects that you read the entire manual (though I find it *really* hard to believe that you've read the Easy Start guide, which is available on Korg's website if you don't have it for some reason, if you don't know how to save). Besides, reading the whole manual cover to cover won't necessarily help you in figuring out something specific.

On the other hand, what *will* help is looking at the table of contents. If you'd done this, you might have found that under 'Playing and Editing Combinations', there's a topic called 'Simple Combination Editing' and subtopic called 'Saving Your Edits', which is on page 61.

Not only that, I gave you two things that would tie it all together without going to the manual anyway. Firstly, I said that saving the global settings is exactly like saving a combi or program (in other words, figure out how to save either one and you'll know how to save both). Secondly, I said that the saving is done from the Utility menu.

Did you look at the utility menu? Did you even try to get *to* the utility menu (press the Utility button?) If you did, you probably would've seen the menu item that you needed (write combination, write program, or write global settings).

I made my point last post, but I also gave you the answer too. Not only that, I gave you the exact page number. Is there anything else you need to solve the problem?

Musicman...as Kanthos has said...saving a combi is done by simply going to the Utility tab and pressing "write combi"...( or "write program" depending on what you are in ) ..at that point it shows you where combi ( or program ) is and there is and allows you to input the new location you would like to save it at...

if you alter an existing combi or program ( let's say eliminate appegraitor ) you can save it in same location if you wish.

Like you ...i have to set my X50 up for playing live. The only way i see that would work for me is to choose a batch of combi's ...let's say 000 thru 050 ..and pick out the existing programs i like and save them in other combi locations above 050 that i don't like.
Now i have 000 thru 050 to save combi's in any order that i choose..I hope this makes sense...I'm not as knowledgable as these other guys..but i think i can help you a little..RW

I will try your suggestion.

I have read and read and there's nothing like actually completing the process yourself to get it straight. I have the sustain polarity-the sustain on the k4 and have tweaked several of the patches so i wouldn't have to do it on the gig...sometimes a second is almost too long. I have gotten rid of the arp .. no need for them in a performing group... I am very interested in trying to move the patches in groups... I want to learn how to combine patches now...the brass need some work... ususally too high or low or thin for me. We are starting to do some Chicago and there isn't too much I like mid range. I really like the X50 ... wish it had another octive of keys....I am not going to run it by midi as a slave... just get use to it.
Thanks again.
