Yes, it works very well. You can record and play back all pattern data and pattern changes on the fly. Specific techniques depend on what DAW you want to use.

Funny you ask,
I've been away from home lately, but when I woke up this morning at hotel i wondered hmmm... I should set up my ESX to trigger Ableton's Impulse, since I'm soo used to the ESX/EMX interface, I could quickly sequence Impulse in 2 instances (I also have a Trigger Finger and Preset 10 is supposed to have been set up for that) So the options are plenty but I like the electribes.

Now if only I could have the knobs of the tribe control the Ableton instruments? My understanding is this doesn't work easily cuz the Electribe is transmitting NPRN messages, i'll need to learn how to convert that to CC messages?

Can anyone elaborate on this?

You must put acid has the master midi clock and your electribe has the slave. Then is just put play on acid and electribe start to play.

Yea man thx i figured it out now tho have to hit generate midi clock in acids options with the electribe set on ext midi in global mode and sort acids preferences in options to your interface etc in the midi and sync tabs (for any1 this might help)

:)

works fine

Hi,

An external sequencer can be a machine with no sounds that just trigger(play) sounds from another midi conected module . The old analog sequencers trigger sounds by cv ( control voltage) gate. Or can be a software like cubase or logic, this kind of sequencer, sequences midi and can record audio.
So you can conect by midi your emx 1 with your computer and with cubase trigger the mx parts of course with individual midi chanels.
The emx 1 have an hardware sequencer but with a synth and pcm drum sounds inside. Thats the "groovebox" spirit.

Cheers
