M50 Patchname Scripts

Post by Kaje »

Hi,

I recently bought myself an M50-73 last week and up to now I'm more than happy with it :) I bought it purley for songwriting and for that purpose it does it's job quite well.

However I could do with locating a patchname script for it. Does anyone know where I could locate such a file as I really don't fancy sitting here and typing it all out :(

Also I did a search and this doesn't seem to have been mentioned. If it has been mentioned I do appologise and have you got a link to where it was mentioned.

Thanks in advance... :)

what do you mean exaclty for patchname script file?

if you mean the voice name list, you can find it here:

if you mean something else, please explain better.

Thanks Kimu,

A patchname script is a basic text file you use with sequencers such as Cubase etc that list the M50's program and combination patches/ sounds so you can select the patches/ sounds via the sequencer. Which makes life so much easier than having to guess where the patches/ sounds are that you want to use.

Actually getting my head out of the late 80's and 90's I have decided to rejoin the rest of the world in 2009. I have sorted the issue out by useing the VST M50 Plug in editor with my version of Cubase and although it would have been nice to carry on working as I am used to, using the editor does basically what I want and now I can see it would do so much more too. So from now on I'm going to use that instead of trying to hunt down a patchname scripts.

Although I will mention that when you instal the USB driver for your PC to actually go into start/ programs/ Korg/ Korg USB Midi Driver Tools/ Instal. Follow the instructions and wait a few mins for it to do its thing then run your software and use the M50 editor plugin as you would a VST instrument. When I read the instructions to instal the USB driver and the M50 edditor this point wasn't made all that clear. Other wise the VST M50 editor runs but it won't connect to the M50 and won't syncronise.

And don't forget to add/ copy-paste the folder with the dll "Korg/M50 Plug-In Editor.dll" to Steinber/cubase#/VSTPlugins/ and all will be good :)
