Optional mp3 board for PA800?
I've been thinking about getting this mp3 player board for my PA 800. I wanted to get some feedback on this board. My main concern is the playback quality of the mp3/wave file.

I don't think if i'd be using it to record anything. I'd be mainly using it to playback some" minus piano audio backtracks" that i have. Until now, i've been using my laptop to do this. I have a Behringer external USB sound card that connects the computer to a mixer. I'm very happy with the quality of the sound, however, from time to time it's not possible for me to be near the laptop and the keyboard and the mixer at the same time. I was wondering if this mp3 board could replace my laptop. The thing is though, i've never heard the wave/mp3 playback quality of a PA 800 in person,so i dont' know if it degrades the sound in anyway.

If you don't need the MP3 card for recording, then a much cheaper solution would be to use a $30 MP3 player and connect it to audio In on the Pa800.
Best regards,
Rob

Hi Sam,
The MP3 board in my Pa2x is the same one you will fit to your Pa800. It's been 100% reliable. When you install it, take anti-static precautions by touching an earthed radiator, and don't touch any circuitry or edge connector etc. You probably know all that from fitting upgrades to your PC eh?
Cheers,
Rob

Any shop that sells Korg keyboards can order a dual MP3 board for a Pa800 for you. No-one will have one in stock. They will contact the Korg distributor/ importer for Australia, who will probably place a special order from Korg in Japan. So don't expect anything to happen quickly.nabil_kh2 wrote:hey guys
i also want to get this installed, but im in australia i. i googled it but coudnlt find anything.......anyone know shops in NSW that sell this?
thanks
Or, you could also contact Frank Ventresca, have him supply one and post it to you. The board is quite light so air mail cost will be small. Ask him to include an invoice in a pocket on the front that says "spare parts for customer electronic keyboard, no charge". Pay him separately using PAYPAL.
What supply voltage is used in Australia? The MP3 board supplied from the USA will require 120 V (I'm pulling your leg)

Best regards,
Rob
