signal noise from KP3 and miniKP

Post by spencer vex »

ive got an elaborate set up so ill try to explain it the best i can in hopes of finding some answers about my Kaoss products.

ive got a Rane TTM56 2 channel scratch mixer.
channel 1 consists of a MIDI keyboard controlling a Macbook/Reason4.
channel 2 consists of a TTX turntable.
ive got my KP3 in the FX loop on the Rane so i can effect Reason or the turntable with it.

then ive got the out from the Rane going into an Electro Harmonix 2880 multi channel looper.

the out from the 2880 going into a Mackie 1202-VLZ3 mixer.

ive also then got a miniKP in the FX loop of the Mackie.

my idea is to be able to effect both the turntable and Reason with the KP3, and then loop that with the 2880. then if i feel any more sound twisting is in order i can effect the final loop with the miniKP.

my problem is that when i run a signal through the KP3 or the miniKP there is a noise that can be heard when activating the FX loops from either of the mixers.

basically if for instance ive got a solid horn tone on a record. i let it play and it sounds great through the Rane, but when i switch on the FX loop it changes the sound of that tone. the same goes for the miniKP/Mackie FX loop.

is there any fix to this? do i just have way too much stuff goin on? any help is appreciated.
