I don't think it works the way you are expecting. The Oasys doesn't remember which preset you've selected, it only loads the settings from the preset.

...so when you load your effect preset and that it is ok for you, WRITE your combi or program

And save the preset if you made changes and you want to keep it.

Also, Am I suppose to see all 780 effects when I select the blue P? I only see about three to four effects...? And, when i loaded the new effect presets a number of my created combis no longer sound the same...I think I messed up? Please help! thanks...

This is as expected. For more details, please see "P (Effect Preset)" under "8–7: IFX 1–12" on page 134 of the latest Parameter Guide. You can also find this info in the online help.

You'll see the Effect Presets for the selected effect only. For instance, if you're editing the Overb, the Effect Preset menu will contain only presets for the Overb - not for the Stereo Mastering Limiter, Harmonic Chorus, etc.
Best regards,
Dan

yeas, but selecting an effect preset for a sound (combi or program) will apply this effect to the sound. if you save (write) the sound, you'll write the effect too. the effect be a part of the sound.
choose a program. take all the effects off. select an effect preset, it will be applied to the program. save your program. go and test and other program, then come back to the first program you applied an effect preset. the effect is still applied to the sound, right ?
