Hello from Maryland

Post by maddogon5 »

I'm a very new user and need help getting started. I've been a musician for 38 years and would like to do my own CD. I have a friend in Pa., not to far away who purchased a Korg D1600mkII to use for making demo songs for his band. He doesn't know how to operate his machine, but has offered to let me use it, (even take it home!). He just uses one track and one mike for his demos. I would like to learn how to use as many as I need, (probably 6 tracks for the instruments and 3 to 4 for vocals). I also want to learn how to edit and bounce so I can make a correction in a track that has a flub in it. I know I have some work ahead of me but I have the manual and also the option of bringing the Korg to my house which I was kind of scared to do because right now I don't know much about it and he has songs on it he doesn't want erased. Ten years ago I had a Yamaha 4 track cassette recorder but it's long gone. My question is where can I get started in this forum? I failed to say I play acoustic bluegrass music, so I won't need midi or effects except for a little reverb and EQ. I play 5-string banjo, mandolin, guitar and upright bass. Thanks for any answer.

sorry mate, I'm the wrong man to ask. I would suggest that you post this question in the correct thread for a prompt answer!

good luck!
