Fellow PC2R owners/ people familiar with Kurz's setups..HELP

Okay folks, here's the deal!
My workstation is a Korg TR61.
Me and my band aren't too crazy about the orchestral sounds on it, so we get a Kurzweil pc2R for me to hook up to it.
I've had it for a while, but haven't been using it much, as our band has no drummer at the moment and can't rehearse.
However, we are starting rehearsals with a prospective drummer now and one thing I am REALLY having trouble with controlling the PC2R is this: I want it and my Korg to switch setups at the very same time (program up) on the touch of my pedal. I can do this on my Korg no problem (oh the carefree days when I used only a Korg...). So, as many of you know: with most Korgs there are "Combinations" and with Kurzweil PC series the equivalent is "MIDI setups".
So, I wiped my combinations on my Korg so I could make user ones based on existing programs. So, I can start at number "0". however 0-127 on the PC2R are not rewritable, and neither is 128 fore some weird reason (the first setup of the user setups bank.) So, I am starting a song with Korg on bank 1 : combination no. 0. and I am starting the Kurzweil on setup "129" aka setup 2 of bank 2. Whenever I pressed my switch pedal down, my korg switches fine, but the Kurzweil seemed to go to the corresponding setup in bank 1. So, I figured out that I need to have the banks and the setup numbers corresponding..but now that they are...whenever I press the pedal down: the kurzweil initially skips two setups...argg! I'm frustrated, and I need to to practise but I can't because of Kurzweil's damn impossible interface! please help!

nevermind about that problem: I figured it out: now I am faced with another problem far more perplexing because it DIDN'T happen before, it just suddenly started happening....whenever i press the switch pedal the sounds I have saved in the next MIDI setup don't play instead the display says "external" prog. From where this is coming from, I don't know, they sound like GM sounds. I'm getting quite fed up with MIDI interfacing.

nevermind guys, I figured out that each individual program or "internal voice" on the kurz has to correspond by bank and number as well as the setup or "combi" itself. thanks anyways.

I'm a newb to this whole controllers and racks thing. MIDI, MIDI, MIDI. why must you confuse me so?
