MicroKORG recording
I have a question, how do you record stuff that you're playing on your MicroKORG and play other things over it? Also the stickied thread with the mk software for download doesn't work for me. When I click the link a blank white screen comes up, anyone know why?
well a KP would be one idea although not that great...
you really need an audio interface and a DAW, or a multi-track hard disk recorder...
you can plug your MK into the audio line-in of your computer, for a quick fix, although usually quite noisy and low quality..
you can get a USB or Firewire (if your computer is suitably equipped) audio interface, there are some really cheap ones around which are fairly okay...
then for software... I always reccommend cubase, but if you have a mac you can just use garrageband, apple logic is also good. and there is sonar, protools, etc, i've never tried these.
There are a few free ones too.
Here's a useful link i pulled off google

also a USB audio interface which is cheap and works out of the box:

but there are loads out there so you should shop around, check out some music retail shops online, looking under audio interfaces, etc...

you could try using a mini cable (1/8") going from your computer's line-in (usually blue) to the mono out on your MK but you will need a 1/8" female to 1/4" male adapter on the MK end. then in audacity set it up to receive from your sound card, and then make sure your computer's main sound driver settings are so that the line-in is the microphone. that should work, but your sound quality will be low using a mini-cable.
