Jerry,
If the keyboard is left unattended, anybody could load/unload stuff if they have a flash drive, right?. A password protected OS would be very welcomed! Don't you think?

I think this is a very good idea! if I were to leave your keyboard unattended the chance of someone stealing your work is always there. Will KORG hear us??????

I agree, my Sets cost me heaps, and i have few people that come around to my house and play with it, and i always watch so they don't steal it, i don't mind giving and sharing things but something that i paid big bucks for is not really for sharing.

We need password

I know! it's like leaving your car running out on the street ready for someone to jump in and drive away! Just out of curiosity, is this the case with other keyboard brands as well? No password, no protection plan, no nothing???? lol

A password protect should be a feature that can be added easily within a new update. Maybe Korg has never had this question before?

Paulo, Jerry: would this be possible ?

Haha,

You need one of those USB alarms... so when someone removes your USB it starts the ALARM... and unless you do not put the key in it keeps buzzing.

Don't you think its a little paranoia, thinking someone will steal your sets at a gig?

When you work at a nightclub and you leave your equipment at the club do you think that it is safe? by no chance at all, unfortunately that is reality.

A little paranoia? First of all, if you think about it, you'll realize that asking for a simple protection like this is totally a logical healthy expectation. I don't think if this is only about protecting the keyboard while one is going to the bathroom. That keyboard could be placed in all kinds of situations where the user has no control over the keyboard for a period of time. Taking the power cable is not going to help. Korg should've addressed this long time ago. It's not just about stealing sets. Anybody could turn on the keyboard and screw up the setting of your keyboard just for fun right when you need to have every thing up and running? If that happens , you'd be very paranoid! We'll see if Jerry has anything to say about this. Like macboy said, this is a very easy thing to do for a programmer.

Why stop there? Go the hardware route instead... install an ignition-type key-switch so that you can really lock it!

Do you have a link to that "ignition-type key-switch"?
