Where to get M3 programs

Post by StudioMan »

Anyone know where we can get the M3 programs?

If not, can someone post them somewhere so us M50 users can check them out?

It would be VERY cool to check them out..

Thanks in advance.

You can download them from the Korg web site on the M3 page, look under software. I loaded them into my M50 last night and they work fine :)

Here I have found the 512 new programs for the V1.2.0, but not all the programs (I think about 1000) from the V2.0 version.

I would think they would put them online eventually, or perhaps if you ask in the M3 section someone would know where they are?

I think they are not downloadable. I wonder if I can release the PGC file public... Jerry?

I would imagine if Korg made the M50 capable of loading M3 sounds then that's what they would expect M50 owners to do? That being the case I can't see any reason why they would not make the M3 sounds available to M50 owners?

Just a thought on the V2 sounds. I don't think they would all fit in the M50, aren't there over 300mb of them ?

The M50 samples are identical to the internal M3V2.0Expanded samples. Obviously, it doesn't have the EXP samples to be loaded from the USB in M3. So M50 can't play the EX1 Piano and the new wind programs based on the EX2 and 3 external samples. (for some reason the EX1 piano program plays... maybe it load automatically the internal samples).
But all the other programs can be loaded, AFAIK.

klarnet basowy, you kinda read my mind, I was just thinking about this sitting down to do more research, already on this post, then you posted. THANKS!

To take it one step further:: Is there a way for us "Non M3 users/owners", to know what is what with the M3 programs & Combis?
I can't make heads or tails out of what is what, what is basically the same programs/combis, etc.

Do you (or anyone) know which file is what? Is there a file with ALL the latest .PCG factory Programs& Combis? Or must I get all these .PCG M3 files and sift thru them to decide what is doubles and what is new?

I'll post a nice organized setup for all the .PCG's if I can figure out what is what on the M3..

For example. The Producer has two sets ( I assume one of these is for the 88keys), it appears these are the same as something, but which version is not explained at all.

Any detailed info. on this would TRULY APPRECIATED!

Really, I'm looking for a "na,na,na,na" Vocal sound.

And a siren (Which if nothing else I made a very decent one using a trumpet and cranked up an amp on it, sounds pretty close to what I was trying to get.

THANKS guys!

Many of the sounds of the M50 are already present on the M3. Indeed, M50 programs are a selections of the best of the M3.
(I don't speak about combis because M3 combis refers to M3 programs, so they are not usable with M50.)
One will have to select all the sounds that are not present in the M50, a lot of work... :(

This is not a problem, I'll see that we post the Programs to korg.com sometime later this week. You'll need only the Programs, as often the Combis are based on what KARMA is doing and won't make as much sense on an M50.

I'll post them in the M50 downloads area to be clear.

OK?

Jerry

Moreover: as M50 is M3V2.0expanded rompler engine, I think it's better not to speak anymore of the Producer set or similars, because all this things refers to V1.X of the M3. The programs of the V.2Expanded are only in one configuration and in a "producer-like" sequence, like in the M50. So there is only one .PGC set to speak about, and it's the one of the V2 M3.
