Korg EMX change pattern knob

Hey when i twist the pattern knob. it changes but it goes like 4 5 6 7 4 5 6, it starts all over making it impossible to change the pattern a lot without using the shift button. Is there a setting i missed here or is the damned thing just broken?

Mine jumps around too. The rotary encoder has, let's say, seen better days. I get by with it (I don't use it live much) but I may replace it some day.

that's been my biggest problem with my EMX too
that stupid knob goes all over the place, I usually have to use some force (not much of course) turn slowly....
