It isn't finished, but I had a bit of fun doing it.

Gentle vague creepiness. Is your number in Tim Burton's phone? It should be. Great job. Nice textures. Perfect for opening film sequence in TB film. Perfect length too for that usage.

The wind and thunder effects were great. Samples?

Wind, bell, thunder and rain all come straight from the Triton's SE collection.

I didn't get on to using the creaking door or the screams unfortunately

Who exactly is Tim Burton? I had to google him...

Tim Burton is the Nightmare Before Christmas guy and also many other very visual films, Edward Scissorhands too I think. This does have a nice haunting vibe. I really like the strings, very emotional and eerie. This is better not having the screams etc I think as it doesn't need them. While the ending is abrupt you have certainly achieved a very nice effect with your chords and melodies. It seriously does sound like the intro to a film. I really like listening to your songs Dee, I am always amazed by how nice they always sound. And you have a true gift for putting instruments and harmonies together to create very strong feelings. So glad you're still putting out these beautiful pieces and sharing them with us.

George had it right...Tim Burton also did Corpse Bride, Batman 1-3, Big Fish, Pee Wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeny Todd...etc. long list of popular (at least in the US) flicks. I like some of his work, but he predominantly uses Danny Elfman of Oingo Boingo fame for his music. But I digress...this is your thread.

And you did a great job with placing your sound right up there with the pros. I agree that there should not be screams. That adds to the immediacy of the sound and leaves question as to what is happening that we do not see. And that is quite magical.

Hi Dee - Wow - this does belong as a movie intro. - strong emotional feeling it evokes - and really pulls the listener in. So when I listen to it, all this imagery comes to mind. Not too eerie but enough tension to keep the listener on the lookout

I do hope you finish this and post the final version for us to enjoy

This has a great atmosphere to it all the way through. I love the strings run from 1:26, and the almost percussive piano.
It's way too short though!
I can imagine you developing this into something much longer.

Wow Dee, it's very very nice!
I like a lot your piano playing and these very good combination between orchestra and piano gives me a great movie soundtrack sensation!
Very good chor progression, too.
The piano sound has got a very space-y reverb, I find it to fit very well the mix and the feeling of the overall song!

I must admit that the overall sound quality is really none of my doing - it's the Triton that has such good pre-set sounds.

Well...guess in my difficulties....I missed this, so I make amends now.... ?-?

I HAVE NO IDEA how I missed.... but... I agree that it is a really neat sound and has the makings of a film score beginning... and I will listen a bit more to see what is going on...!

Must indeed be age that has gotten to me...

Hi After a long time....

Still like some of the haunted ambience here.... the piano sounds are VERY tight over the instrumental...

I also am struck with the choice of progression and the use of it and the reverb for piano makes it VERY good indeed...

I would have liked to see just a bit more dynamic contrast over all.. and of course... wish you had finished it as others mention..

I don't recall WHY I never commented earlier on this... Sorry
