Help with laptop and Cubase!?!

Post by spanamer »

Hello Forum members.

I am thrilled with my new M3 and I'm interested in purchasing a laptop for use with the M3 and Cubase to set up a good MIDI studio. I've never bought a laptop and I would really appreciate any advice from members familiar with this setup to help me decide on which laptop to buy as a dedicated sequencer/recorder to use with the M3. I have never used a computer sequencer and I'm considering Cubase 4 having read good reviews on it. I also have a Yamaha AW1600 HD recorder and I know it integrates well with PC DAWs. The M3 has a great sequencer but I want to have projects readily available to pull up without having to reload from an external HD to the M3. The Cubase has many great featues that aren't available on the M3 and the projects can be stored much easier with the laptop. I'm in the dark and really want somebody to "show me the light" before I make a mistake in purchasing the right ( or best ) laptop for the job. I'm looking at a price range between 700 and 1000 dollars. Please help me. Many thanks in advance. Bill Bray
