PadKontrol, Acid Pro 6.0 and latency

I purchased the PadKontrol yesterday with visions of finally having the ultimate solution to my drum track creation issues. My PC processor is P4 3.2 Ghz with 4GB memory. Running Acid Pro 6.0 and the PadKontrol I get sounds but there is a significant lag between hitting the pad and hearing the sound, making the unit unusable until I resolve this issue. BTW, I have no latency issues in Acid Pro 6.0 when programming midi drums directly with the mouse (or just tapping with the mouse) - the lag only occurs with PadKontrol. I'm guessing it's some sort of system parameter I missed during setup, but, after spending most of today trying to find the right tweak, I've run out of ideas. Any advice/solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any input on this issue!

I'm not sure if this is the right answer for you, but with Acid 6 I had some latency issues with my M-Audio keyboard devices. I downloaded the Asio drivers (free) from somewhere on the internet (i can try to look them up, at work at the moment, drop me an email or something via this forum)..and once i installed them and set up via the instructions provided my latency with acid pro disappeared.

I have a similar setup as you, although i'm running dual core processor setup. Acid always gives me issues, and what sucks is i've been using acid since 4.0 and im ready to give it up although its one of the most intuitive interfaces i have dealt with as far as audio production.

I bought the padkontrol as part of my migration away from Acid and into programs like reason and ableton but still really prefer the simplicity of the acid interface.

hopes this helps!

Are you using the most updated Korg MIDI Drivers? They're up on korg.com. Always worth a try.

What soundcard have you got? If it's onboard sound that might be causing you the problem.
You could try Asio4all that might fix it, it'll give you better latency.
Have a look at the settings in acid, I had to change mine in ableton because they weren't set to asio.
