zero 4 - ableton live - midi mapping

midi mapping my korg zero 4 didn't work 'out of the box' in my already installed ableton live. in ableton live's preferences, under "midi sync", i had to enable "track" and "remote" for "plug 2" on the zero 4.
this may sounds completely obvious to some of you, but i still don't know what the !@#$ it means
however, it works now.
there is no 'control surface' for the korg zero's in my ableton. i guess that would have done the trick as well, but I'm not sure.
what midi signals get sent exactly by which controls, can be configured using zero edit.
