Hi everyone,

After waiting a long time, hoping for a Radias expansion for our OASYS,I bought myself the RADIAS.The Radias is absolutly brilliant.I'm still not convinced by the looks of it but the sounds are so cool.Radias and OASYS go very well together.

I have a simple question though.... If you have a Oasys why would you want anything else or even have anything else in your studio? The Oasys does it all. Many of us after the Oasys don't really dedicate time to anything else after we buy it.

Happy New Synth Synthia!

If only the Oasys screen was 1" smaller........... I picked up a keboard for a Radias a while ago, a friend of mine was throwing it out. All I need now is the module to go with it.

Enjoy your new toy.

Hi Synthia,
Good choice. I couldn't resist a great deal for the RADIAS-R here in Canada. It fits nicely into my new M3-73 which also has the EXB RADIAS and EXB256. Tons of fun!
Cheers,
Eric

Apparently, you haven't come to know Synthia.
Even her name says synth.
If she didn't have a Radias, it would be surprising.

Because we want to and we can! :D It's fun to collect things, some people collect stamps, some people collect football cards and we collect keyboards. Simple as that.

You only live once franzlp, why not lighten up and let us have some fun !

It's illogical. Because we want to and we can??? You sound like the folks that spend so much on there credit cards and then they say boo hooo I am now so in debt because no one told me to stop. Dude, I love synths but once I got the Oasys I came to revelation that there are no other better because it is the Mazzaratti of synths. Just because you want to fill in the space in a studio is not a good enough reason even Jordan Rudress got rid of most of his gear once he got the Oasys and he's a virtouso. It's not about collecting cards , if that were the case I'd buy a DX-7 off of ebay but I know the OAsys can do DX-7 sounds and even more.

franzip,

For Christ sake put a sock in it,will you :x
Who the hell do you think you are, coming here telling people what to do with THEIR hard earned money!
If we want to buy gear, then it's up to us!!!
So lets drop it,ok

I was going to mention Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson etc etc and how the Oasys is great but not everything to all musicians. But you know what, Synthia has said it all.

Synthia,

I never told you what to do with your money the only thing I did was ask a very simple question and quite politely I'd say. So I don't think your emotional outburst is justified, but que sera sera. I pretty certain that the Oasys can do 99% and more of what the Radias could anyway from what I've researched previously. I can only be gracious and say that I am sure you exploit the Oasys quite well.

Nice Picts Synthia and congrats on the purchase.

I believe Rudess uses a Radias on stage and in the Studio. Also, I dont think the O has all Radias functionality...I think it has been discussed that the vocoding on the O is not on par with the Radias.

franzip,

You are right,I have exploited the OASYS,I'm am a Korg Synth collector/musician/programmer etc.My synths are my life and I do get upset if people just can't understand my passion. You would not believe the crap I endured on Harmony-Central a few years back. Some people there really hurt me there and I was depressed for weeks afterwards.
Please excuse my anger but this just bought it all back.

Hi Synthia -

Congratulations on your acquisition of a Radias. Its a magnificant instrument and as another current Korg synthesizer model, compliments the OASYS excellently, as the OASYS does not have this sound. I tried one out months ago and you're right - it sounds absolutely fantastic - one of the best sounding instruments I've ever heard. I hope to buy one someday.

Also GREAT to see a hardware synthesizer player staying true to her passion and art. There's no substitute to 'the real thing'. Wishing you many happy years of playing and composing on it.

Kevin.
