Help us pls! The pad wont make a sound!!!!

Hi! We r brand new users for the padkontrol and cant make it give us any sound! I know it might be a stupidly easy prob but we cant figure out how to make it go... so please please give us some help!!!
Really want to learn to use the kontroler but...
