it would be cool to have a solo safe feature in the next firmware update.

we're performing live electronic music, and two channels of the z8 are
synths, the rest is drum machine output (seperate instruments), kick, hat, snare,...

when i want to solo the kick, would be great to use the SOLO button, instead of pulling down faders or, even worse, holding down 5 CUT switches.

please make that work

when you are playing

have yourself faded all the way too A

and have everything deselected

when you are coming to the part where you want to cut out 5 things and leave the rest playing just select those 5 on the A side and leave the rest unselected

so when you get to that part a quick fade to B will cut everything selected by A and leave all of the unselected tracks playing

thanks for the reply, but this is not working for me as i have some bleeps and percussion loops on channels 7+8 (7->A / 8->B), so i can crossfade between them. the AB thing is kind of occupied already.

i did like you said, before noticing this crossfader is very useful for that kind of stuff, and i don't want to sacrifice this.

well you can always just solo everything you want to keep at once

also i have seen a lot of people play entirely from the solo channel

by keeping all of your playing track soloed, the center switch position becomes the same as the cut
